Australia’s vulnerability against spin bowling was exposed yet again as Piyush Chawla made life tough for the Aussies during the warm up match at Bangalore on Sunday.
Chawla (4/31) bowled his googlies and leg breaks with such effect that left the Aussies out of sorts. Michael Clarke, Cameron White, David Hussey and Callum
Ferguson perished in Chawla’s dream second spell of 5-0-9-4.
India were all out for 214 with a top score of 54 from Virender Sehwag. Ashwin played a crucial innings at the end chipping in a useful 25 runs.
However, the Aussies managed to score just 176 (all out) thanks to some very good spin bowling from Piyush Chawla. This is a confidence building win for India ahead of the World cup.
